CCU Selected as CommunityAid Major Partner

CCU is thrilled to be selected as a CommunityAid Major Partner! CommunityAid launched a local thrift store in 2009 that has now grown to a chain of 6 stores, giving away over $13 million to over 800 non-profit partners since their founding. They have been a significant partner in our work for many years.

In 2019 they undertook a review process of their major partners, we applied, and were selected as one of six major partners...the major partner of their Harrisburg store (the picture above is their Harrisburg store staff visiting HELP Ministries). We’re so thankful for their work taking our community’s leftover clothing and household items, and providing affordable items to individuals and families while also raising funds for so many worthy organizations. They also provide care cards that folks in emergency need of clothing can use to get what they need free of charge.

Want to support our work through this partnership?

  1. Host a Community Aid collection bin on the property of your church or business
  2. Host a Community Aid collection cart inside your church or business
  3. Conduct a clothing drive this spring: Current greatest needs are men’s, children’s and plus size clothing.

In each of the above cases, Community Aid will pickup the items collected, and you can chose to have a portion of the sales of the items collected go to support CCU’s programs. Contact Lynn Whitten at CommunityAid (lwhitten@communityaid.net or 570-898-9964) if you would like to participate in any of the above.
